The primary difference between SSDs and HDDs is that SSDs don't move, whereas HDDs are continually spinning. The price is also considerably different, with SSDs costing six to eight times as much as the same amount of storage space in an HDD. So, when is it worth the exorbitant cost of an SSD? There are actually several instances when the cost is worth the performance.

The Dell Precision T1700 Entry Level Workstation Review: Worth All the Hype?

When Dell announced the new Precision T1700, reviewers went wild. Is this compact workstation truly that innovative? After all, Lenovo and HP already had compact workstations well before Dell jumped on the mini wagon. As a latecomer to the world of CAD compactness, the true innovation in the Precision T1700 is not so much the size of the machine as the price. This workstation sells for about the same amount as a high-end desktop computer. Is it worth raving over?

Are IT Managers Ready for CAD Management?

The problem with new innovations like CAD and BIM (Building Information Modeling) is that, to most executives, it all sounds like a normal extension of the job of the IT manager. After all, it's all "technology," right? So the "information technology" specialist ought to be able to handle it.

I hope you could help me please find a printer which will print output from Drafix Cad Ultra. Which I have used sine 1993 for 2 d office layout plans.
The program is DOS and the drawings were saved as dwg. Not autocad and converted by a local s / w program called Printit. My epson Stylus 1000 has gone to gad and cannot be repaired I need a new reasonable printer as at 81 yo I am not going to get a lot of work but would still like to draw plans for family and friends.
I would appreciate your advice as the new printers seem to be only getting input from Windows. Sh rely there is still one which can either convert the Drafix drawing files to is it GD1 which then would work
Please help. Thanks. Russell

I cannot access your occasional free issues anymore without a "commercial" Email address. I have been using AutoCAD since Release 12 and am a practicing licensed architect and have used information from Cadalyst to purchase display cards, printers and monitors.
Now that I'm in the process of purchasing a new workstation to run AutoCAD Architecture 2015 I could use Cadalyst's information and advertising of workstations but am precluded without the "commercial" Email address. I don't have a websited because I've never needed one, either as an employee or the last 14 years as fully self-employed with enough work with no marketing necessary beyond a listing in the phone directory.
So how about doing a service to me and your workstation advertisers by allowing me access with my present Email address?

Hello cadspeed.wordpress.com

I work for Discover Media and we currently represent an online casino interested in working with you, or the administrator of your website, for the purpose of advertising. Specifically, we are looking to advertise on websites willing to enter into a minimum obligation of one year.

We would be excited to discuss one or more of these strategies with you:

Option 1
Paying you $100 for an article to stay live on your site for 12 months, containing a link to the client's site.
This would:
· Be short (300-400 words).
· Contain a link to the client's online casino site.
· Tailored to fit in with your site and audience. (For example recently we have worked with many fashion sites on pieces such as 'what to wear on a night out at the casino', or technology sites reviewing the 'best mobile device for gaming of 2014')

Option 2
Paying you $100 for banner advertising, this would be:
· Live for 12 months
· On the Home page sidebar only
· A Small 125X125 image

Option 3
Paying you $100 to place an infographic on your site titled 'The history of gaming' or 'The rise in mobile gaming'

If you are interested or desire more information please reply to josh@discovermedia.co.uk with any questions.

Regards,

Josh

Hello,

I hope this email finds you well! My name is Sam Bowling and I’m an infrastructure engineer at SingleHop, a pioneer in cloud computing. I wanted to reach out to you regarding an infographic I’ve recently put together that offers some useful information regarding business downtime and disaster recovery.

Included within the infographic is information regarding some different types of technology disasters that can occur, some shocking stats about the results of business downtime, and most importantly, a step-by-step process for implementing a proper recovery strategy. Take a moment to check it out at http://www.singlehop.com/blog/infographic-disaster-recovery.

I would encourage you to share this with your readers and invite you to add your own insights to it as well -- Why do you feel that having a Disaster Recovery Plan is important/not important? Have you ever experienced business downtime or a business disaster?

Thanks for your time in advance and hopefully we can work together here. I look forward to hearing what you think.

Best,

Sam
